Registration Cake...

My Hubby’s friend Vel Murugan ordered a registration cake for his brother’s marriage registration occasion. He requests a chocolate cake and the deco he leave it to me. It's a chocolate cake with butter cream crumb coat. Chocolate ganache to cover the cake. For rose and other decorations, i use butter cream.

-Morning, did prayers in our new house. Evening did house warming...

Busy serving the guest.

-My Birthday..Did a simple chocolate birthday cake with an emergency decorations...Coz no time to decorate the cake..No decorating tip to decorate nicely..instead i use a freezer bag to decorate the cake.

CFK event ( Cooking for Kids)

Cooking For Kids event

Hema have invited me to participate in her CFK event hosted by Salt to Taste. Her blog is simply superb.I love all the recipes in the website. Click here to go her blog. Cooking for Kids event was initiated by Sharmi of Neivedyam. Click here to view her blog.

I'm submitting the Chocolate Chips and Dried Blackcurrant Muffin for CFK event. It's a simple muffin and i topped it with chocolate. For the decoration i use fondant Butterfly which I make by myself. Kids will love it.

If you would like to bake one for your kids, here is the recipe.

Chocolate Chip and Dried Blackcurrant Muffin Recipe:

Ingredient A:

250 gm All purpose flour

2 tsp Baking powder

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

2 tbsp Cocoa powder

175gm Castor Sugar

50 gm Dried Blackcurrant ( can use Raisin also)

100gm Chocolate Chips

Ingredient B:

250ml Milk ( I use full cream milk)

90ml Corn oil/ sunflower oil

1 large egg

1 tsp Vanilla essence

Method:

1. Heat oven at 160 C.

2. Sieve ingredient A and set a side.

3. Beat ingredient B for 1 minute. Mix Ingredient A until well mixed.

4. Scoop the mixture in to the muffin case about 3/4.

5. Bake at 160 c for 15min or until it is cooked.

6. Ready to serve.

East Meet West

Last Saturday I attend East meet West class in ICCA Kota Damansara. It's a demo conducted by Rosalind Chan and Alex Tan See Fong. Both of them shared their knowledge.

Rosalind Chan demonstrated the latest cake decorating techniques from the ICES Convention in Chicago. She show us how to make and apply crusting butter cream, Gelatine butterflies and how to make a Pixie.

Alex demonstrated decorating techniques from his latest book and new moulds.
