CFK event ( Cooking for Kids)

Cooking For Kids event

Hema have invited me to participate in her CFK event hosted by Salt to Taste. Her blog is simply superb.I love all the recipes in the website. Click here to go her blog. Cooking for Kids event was initiated by Sharmi of Neivedyam. Click here to view her blog.

I'm submitting the Chocolate Chips and Dried Blackcurrant Muffin for CFK event. It's a simple muffin and i topped it with chocolate. For the decoration i use fondant Butterfly which I make by myself. Kids will love it.

If you would like to bake one for your kids, here is the recipe.

Chocolate Chip and Dried Blackcurrant Muffin Recipe:

Ingredient A:

250 gm All purpose flour

2 tsp Baking powder

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

2 tbsp Cocoa powder

175gm Castor Sugar

50 gm Dried Blackcurrant ( can use Raisin also)

100gm Chocolate Chips

Ingredient B:

250ml Milk ( I use full cream milk)

90ml Corn oil/ sunflower oil

1 large egg

1 tsp Vanilla essence

Method:

1. Heat oven at 160 C.

2. Sieve ingredient A and set a side.

3. Beat ingredient B for 1 minute. Mix Ingredient A until well mixed.

4. Scoop the mixture in to the muffin case about 3/4.

5. Bake at 160 c for 15min or until it is cooked.

6. Ready to serve.

Last Saturday I attend East meet West class in ICCA Kota Damansara. It's a demo conducted by Rosalind Chan and Alex Tan See Fong. Both of them shared their knowledge.

Quite busy that day...after my work finish at 6am, I start to bake. 10am me n hubby when to take breakfast and then when to Bake with Yen to find " Cars" edible image. They don't have it. So we when to few shops (Wilton ICCA, City Bakers, Moms Bakery,Bagus Kota D'sara) still couldn't find it. At last we when to LMC Bakery and i manage to get one. It's already 1.30pm. I start to deco the cakes and i finish it at 3pm. The part that i hate to do is the cleaning part..hehehehe..normally if i bake on weekends,my hubby will help me to do the washings..today i have to wash all the utensils because my hubby when to service my sister's car..I finish cleaning at about 3.30pm. I couldn't stand anymore and straight when to bed. I only sleep for about 2 1/2 hours. My hubby wake me up at 6pm and then we get ready to delivery the cake. After deliver the cakes, we when to visit hubby's friend in Brickfields. It was really nice to meet them. We leave their house at about 2am Sunday morning. Then we when back home and sleep.

That's the Saturday story and now you guys can figure out how busy I am that day....

I love to eat Swiss Roll especially the Chocolate Swiss Roll with butter cream. So...I tried to make a Swiss roll. It's a vanilla cake with fresh fruit cream filling...the taste was superb and i can't stop eating it....

Monthy Baking Event

Hi....

This is the first time I'm participating in the Monthly Baking Event. I love to take part in this type of events. Sweet and Simple Bakes posted the Chocolate Orange Drizzle Loaf Cake recipe as this months event.

I use a heart shaped pan instead of a loaf pan. I drizzle some melted chocolate at the side of the cakes.The cake was simply superb.It was so soft and moist. I did this cake for my father on father's day. My mum and my hubby loves the orange cake and both of them finished 1/2 of the cake.

I'm going to do this cake again and thanks to Sweet and Simple Bakes for the awesome recipe.
